TODAY’S VERSE: GALATIANS 5:16 So I say, live by the Spirit, and you will not gratify the desires of the sinful nature.
REVELATION:
Have you lost passion for your New Year resolutions? Are you still struggling with the same old bad habits? Well, struggle no more; today's verse reveals just what you need to overcome the desires of your sinful nature.
For the past three years, we have been trying to clean our backyard. Every spring we get out back and cut and clean the yard, but with little rain here and there, we always find ourselves almost at the same position. With April rains the trees and all unwanted vegetation comes back strong. We need more than our chain saw and rakes. This year we are not just going to cut and clean, but we are going to pull the roots out and spray Weed B' Gon. Weed B' Gon gets deep into the root and kills from ground up.
I know, you are asking what does your backyard have to do with today's verse? Well, let me explain: We often do things that we know are not right in the eyes of God. And we try and try to overcome those bad habits, but often with no luck we find ourselves at the same position. We try to overcome problem of worry by using power of positive thinking, we try to fill our emptiness through night life and there are many more dead end strategies that we use.
What we need is to kill the root of the problem and that is our sinful desires. You need to use Sin B' Gon - Holy Spirit and you will not gratify the desires of the sinful nature. If you overcome your bad habits without getting rid of the desires, you are definitely doomed to fail. The job of the Holy Spirit in your life is to guide you in living a life that pleases God. He will guide you through convictions, He will guide you through understanding of God's Word, and those are just two examples of how He will help you to remove the desires of the sinful nature in your life.
Dear Reader, I am not sure of your struggles, but I know you and especially God know them. As today's verse reveals, to overcome your sinful nature, you will need the Sprit of God to help you. The place to start is to invite Jesus as Lord and Savior over your life. All you have to do is confess with your mouth, "Jesus is Lord" and believe in your heart that God raised Him from the dead, and you will find yourself overcoming the desires of your sinful nature!
PRAYER:
My Heavenly Father, first I want to thank You for caring for me. God, I know You are my cure to my sinful nature. I pray You will fill me with Your Spirit, to guide me as I yearn to have desires, of Your heart. In Jesus' name, I pray. Amen.

Knowing God and His ways is the only way to live a life that has less sin. Seeking Him and His way is the only way, we can be free. Seek Him through His Word, through Prayers, through listening to Sermons.
