TITLE: The Bridge To Heaven

TODAY’S VERSE: JOHN 5:24
I tell you the truth, whoever hears My word and believes Him who sent me has eternal life and will not be condemned; he has crossed over from death to life.

REVELATION:
Wouldn't it be nice if there was a bridge that you could just walk on right up to Heaven, when you decide you have had enough of this world? As, I was reading today's verse this question and a sight came to my mind.

On the summer of 2005, my wife and I, had an opportunity to visit Key West, Florida. It is such a nice place to visit. It has a lot of different small historical places to see. One historical place that amazed me was the Bahia Honda bridge. This bridge was abandon, I am not sure for what reasons. But, what makes me remember this bridge the most, is that when we entered the bridge and we looked toward the end of the bridge we couldn't see the end of it. Standing at the right spot made the bridge looked as if it was going into the Heavens.

As much as we would like, we all know there isn't a physical bridge that you could really walk up to Heaven, but could there be a way or a bridge per say that guide us to Heaven? To a place where there is no problems, no pain, and no worries. The answer is, Yes there is a bridge to Heaven!, and that bridge is Jesus Christ. The texts from today's verse are the very Words of Jesus Himself. He gives us instructions on how to get on that bridge.

Jesus instruct us to hear His teachings and believe, and that all is require from you and me. I know, this can be hard to understand, I have been there. I have had people stopped me on my way to class when I was in college, and told me these very words, and I just nodded with fake agreement and said "Un-huh". I attended church and heard these words but never really took them seriously. I have heard them on the radio and television and at times even switched the channel. Intellectually to me Jesus was a bridge, but just like that Bahia Honda bridge, He was an abandoned bridge, in my heart.

After series of different circumstances, in June of 2003 all that changed, the Words of Jesus were the only thing that I had to hold on to, for comfort. All alone in a room, out loud as if I was speaking to somebody, I shared my fears, my weaknesses, and my struggles. With tears coming out my eyes, knees on the floor, a heavy heart, I just believed Jesus was the only one that can help me. I truly believed that day He was capable of doing anything, and I needed Him, even though I couldn't see Him. I believed all those words that for years I have been hearing, but abandoned. I am happy to say, that was the wisest decision I ever made.

Dear reader, first thank you for reading this far. You could have easily switched to another homepage. But, I have few questions for you. Where do you stand today? You know Christ "intellectually" but not in your heart? Or are you not even aware of this bridge? Do you believe Jesus is the bridge to Heaven? If, not I encourage you to be honest and examine your heart, be truthful and come with questions why you don't believe in Jesus. Then seek to find answers to those questions. I encourage you to start this process today. Remember, whenever you are ready all you have to do is confess with you mouth that "Jesus is Lord" and believe in your heart that God raised Him from the dead, and you will be on that bridge to Heaven!
